Graphics Lab Vinyl Cutter Orientation
Learn how to use the Vinyl Cutter at the Graphics Lab!
- Friday, March 9, 2018
- 2:00pm - 3:00pm
- Graphics Lab (10th Floor)
- Making Center, 2 West 13th Street
The Roland Vinyl Cutter is designed primarily for scoring adhesive vinyl, usually following an Illustrator design created beforehand. Once scored, you can then use the vinyl for wall signage, decals, stencils and more.
In the orientation, we will go over how to use Adobe Illustrator to create a vinyl cutter-ready file, how to run the vinyl cutter with the correct setting for your material, and how to weed and apply your stickers after removing them from the machine. Once finished, you will be verified to use the vinyl cutter on your own and make reservations for it, as long as you are enrolled in the New School.
Please note: Basic knowledge of Adobe Illustrator is highly recommended, as we will only go over Illustrator settings relevant to the vinyl cutter, not Adobe Illustrator entirely.
Please arrive 15 minutes before the Start Time, as we will start promptly at that point!
